Abstract

Eastern Visayas State University is mandated by Republic Act No. 9311 to provide advanced instruction and professional training in the arts, philosophy, social sciences, agriculture, fisheries, forestry, science and technology, engineering, education, and law, among others. Additionally, it is mandated to conduct research and extension activities, as well as to give progressive leadership in its area of expertise. The University will establish viable programs geared toward providing a high-quality education by establishing a vibrant modern learning environment coupled with indigenous and cutting-edge facilities that will provide exceptional opportunities for students and faculty to pursue worthwhile scholarly endeavors. It will invest in outstanding new academic staff and state-of-the-art facilities to enable the university to expand its research capacity and foster interdisciplinary studies that will be at the forefront of addressing not only local but also global challenges such as hunger, disease, climate change, international understanding, and the invention of novel and critical technologies.
