Abstract
The purpose of this study was to compare male and female students' abilities in drafting technology, a Grade 8 subject in secondary schools in Leyte. It evaluated the students' profiles, including their age, grade in drafting technique, and household income. Additionally, it examined their attitudes regarding drawing technology, as well as their study and work routines. Additionally, it examined the level of proficiency in a variety of disciplines, including freehand drawing, lettering, geometric construction, orthographic drawing, pictorial drawing, and commercial arts. This study employed the descriptive survey method. It was done with 345 randomly chosen respondents in selected public secondary learning institutions in Leyte, Philippines. To collect the necessary primary data, structured questionnaires were delivered. The findings indicated that the majority of pupils were 14–15 years old and received a good rating. They come from families who fall below the poverty line. Male and female students both expressed a moderate level of like for drafting technology and demonstrated satisfactory study and work habits. Their level of writing competency was satisfactory, with male and female responders demonstrating comparable levels of competence. Inadequate drafting facilities were the students' primary source of frustration. In conclusion, both male and female students demonstrated a high level of competency in the drafting technology course, somewhat favorable attitudes about drafting technology, and satisfactory study and work habits related to drafting technology. The study proposes that students have a more positive attitude toward learning and study practices. The administration must give state-of-the-art facilities to enhance students' knowledge and skills in drafting technology.
