Abstract

Every human being need a moral life. In today's world, where morality is up to interpretation, there is a risk that its meaning will be misunderstood by certain individuals. It is necessary for man to develop a more nuanced view of what a moral life should include. A person who has a thorough comprehension of a moral theory such as Socratic ethics will have an essential ethical foundation when confronted with situations that call into question his moral standards and views. While it is true that culture can influence how a society views morality, this study will focus on the individual's understanding of morality as taught by Socrates. Ethical Intellectualism is a moral standard that the human person can imbibe and apply. It is an ancient method that continues to hold true to the present day. This essay provides an analysis of Socrates' Ethical Intellectualism in terms of a moral person in comparison to each individual's sideal stage of moral life.
