Abstract

This article discusses Paul Ricoeur's critical examination of the state's dual nature. Additionally, it aims to explain the disintegration of human individuals as a result of masscivilization. This can be witnessed on three levels, according to Leovino Ma. Garcia: technological, socioeconomic, and cultural. The author believes that modern society's oppression of individuals stems from colonial mentality. To reclaim our humanity in the face of all violence, individuals are required to live as authentic Christians — ethical and just.
