Abstract

Much to our disgrace, poverty robs our dignity as humans; no one could help us in this plight, not even our own selves no matter how determined we are in the struggle. Forget about any doled-out so-called poverty alleviation program of the government. Such scheme is temporary, short-term and politically-motivated, intended only to liquidate the billions of pesos allotted towards social services at the same time reinforcing the myth that the government cares. In fact, the suffering and ignorance of our people needs to be maintained because this is the condition in which the “blessed few” in society exploits to maintain their hold to power. Precisely, political dynasty and corruption proliferates only in poor countries.
