Abstract

Development is a social process, not a collection of policies and programs designed to achieve a certain goal, but the consequence of society's capacity to arrange human energies and productive resources in order to meet the difficulties and possibilities that life constantly provides. The academy is vital to progress because it provides the human capital necessary to meet society's needs. Eastern Visayas State University, through its extension services unit, commits to promoting self-reliance and productivity among community youth, unemployed and underemployed adults, working men and women from low-income communities, and differently-abled individuals and their organizations and communities through continuous education, knowledge transfer, and resource sharing.
