Abstract
The following article details the stages involved in refining Print's Curriculum Model in order to make it suitable for building a laddered curriculum in hospitality management. The criteria to consider while building laddered programs were determined through a comprehensive assessment of the literature on the principles and requirements of lifelong learning systems and included into Print's Model's three phases of organization, development, and application. Four factors were identified as critical to the success of laddered programs: the critical role of teachers, the primacy of situational analysis, the alignment of the four elements of curriculum intent, content, learning activities, and instructional evaluation with the development of lifelong learning skills, and the presence of external educational reforms that promote lifelong learning. Print's Model incorporates these aspects to assist curriculum developers in developing laddered programs.
