The Philippine Footwear Federation Inc. (PFFI) and Zapateria Hub (Marikina City) hosted the 8^th Philippine Footwear Design Competition with the theme DISHENYO or “Design Genius”. The Dishenyo has a vision of strong Filipino Representation and sustainable practices, celebrating Filipino identity through creative ingenuity for a sustainable future.

DISHENYO Philippine Footwear Design Competition (PFDC) kicked off with a series of online workshops on November 8-12, 2022. The workshop series included Shoemaking 101, Shoe Design Sketching and Design Conceptualization with speakers from the shoe industry namely, Maco Custodio, Mara Piñon, Gerome Sta. Maria, Nicco Pantacc,among others.

Students of BS IndTech Clothing and Fashion Design attended the synchronous sessions from the ORDEX Training Room.

The DISHENYO Philippine Footwear Design Competition is open to all EVSU Students, Faculty and other members of the community who would like to experience designing and prototyping a shoe.

The Grand Winner will be awarded P15,000 while the Runner Up gets P10,000. The Top 5 designs will be given a P5,000 prototyping budget each alongside a 2 Day Footwear Development Sprint.

Entries should be emailed to hello.ffdc@gmail.com on or before November 19, 2022. Below is the prescribed format of design submissions. Participants may send one or multiple entries.
