News Office of Extension Services plans to harmonize Research, Innovation, and Extension Services in Extension Programs

The Office of the Extension Services of Eastern Visayas State University hosted a Webinar on Harmonizing Research, Innovation, and Extension Services in State Universities and Colleges as a response to the need of  translating knowledge into community-based engagements and activities and transform society through extension program on November 21, via zoom.

This is in line to the plan of the office in harmonizing research,innovation, and extension services in the Extension Programs of the university.

The said event highlighted the special talk of Key note speakers from different state colleges and universities.

Dr Mira Magcawas of Cavite State University and Dr. Angeline Pogoy shared valuable inputs in relation to Methodologies in Extension PPAs and Best Practices in Extension PPAs in State Universities and Colleges.

Dr. Dario Cidro, a Faculty member from University of Manitabo, Canada integrated rationale in the conduct of Research to establish fundamental tenets in initiating extension services to the community.

Lastly, Engr. Albertson D. Amante of Batangas State University boiled down his topic on Harmonizing Research, Innovation, and Extension Services.

Accordingly, state colleges and universities should become the trailblazers of societal change with the ultimate goal in transforming a community

Optimistic on the outcome of the webinar, Dr. Jovito Madea, Director for Extension Services, saw the need to capacitate faculty, staff, and students in the conduct of extension activities.

Currently, only Faculty members from different colleges commit active involvement in different partner agencies and industries in the region. “Well, it is weak and very low in terms of involvement. This eventuated the office to encourage stakeholders to become more vibrant and visible in reaching people, thus forging synergistic efforts towards achieving innovation-based and resilience-oriented community,” he further expressed.

Dr. Madeja posited in his remarks that the rationale behind this webinar is to equip EVSUnistas with knowledge and skills which are necessary to realize these objectives per CHED mandate.
