Opportunities for Faculty

Dear Rectors, Vice-Chancellors, Presidents,  

Tan Sri Professor Dato Dr. Jalaludin informed the Board that he has commitments from four organizations to reactivate the ASAIHL Fellowship program as follows:                 

  1. Segimaju CEO Daniel Ng will sponsor the ASAIHL Fellowship program with a value of Malaysian ringgit 5000 per year.  
  2. Yayasan Can Joo Can Factory will grant two ASAIHL Fellowships with a value of Malaysian ringgit 10,000 each per year by Chief Executive Yeoh Jin Hoe  
  3. Bioalpha is a public listed company is happy to sponsor ASAIHL Fellowship program with a value of Malaysian ringgit 5000 per year.  
  4. Asia e University is initially providing five fellowships for Academic staff and senior officers to visit the ASAIHL Institute site as a means to familiarize with it operations.   
    Period of stay: minimum of 1 week or maximum of 2 weeks.  
    Accommodation and Transportation: AeU will provide a 3 star hotel stay near AeU (Walking distance). Transportation will be provided on need basis if required.  
    Flight: AeU will provide return airfare, economy class  
    Medical care: Will provide Fellow with affordable medical care during the visit.
    Value of each Fellowship: RM5000.00 per fellow covering accommodation, flight, allowances, transportation, and affordable medical expenses)  
     Number of Fellowships provided by AeU: 5  

We are pleased to announce the ASAIHL Fellowship program for a distinguished Scholar to visit an ASAIHL member institutions.  The purpose of the Fellowship is to enable faculty or staff members to spend time visiting at an ASAIHL member institution.  

Prior agreement between the parties concerned should be reached is due partly to the fact that supply has to be matched with demand and partly to the fact that both the sending and receiving universities have certain obligations to fulfill.  

Before an application can be sent to ASAHL, agreement should have been reached between the sending institution and the receiving institution. 

Qualification of Fellows
Distinguished scholars who go under this program will not be confined to professors only  

Period of Stay
At each university, there should be a minimum stay of one week and the maximum is two weeks.  

Financial Arrangements
The Fellow will make the trip as service rendered to his or her university.
He will therefore automatically receive his or her regular salary.
ASAIHL will pay a supplementary living allowance of US$100 per day or US$500 per week.  
Return air-fare, economy class, will be provided  

Accommodation and Local Transportation
The receiving university will provide suitable accommodation and local transportation or, in lieu there of, an equivalent allowance as determined by the receiving university.  

Medical Care
The receiving university will provide a Fellow with medical care during the visit. 

Attached are copies of the application and the agreement to be signed between the host university and the sending institution prior to sending them to the Association of Southeast Asian Institutions of Higher Learning (ASAIHL).
