To pave the way in strengthening the University’s growing internationalization efforts, Assoc. Prof. Faustito A. Aure, Director for Internationalization of Higher Education, and Mr. Joseph Nacionales, a faculty of the Bachelor of Arts in English Language (BAEL) program of EVSU-Department of Languages and Literature (EVSU-DLL), embarked on a 4-day cross-border academic engagement in Palembang City, South Sumatra, Indonesia, from June 11-14, 2024. During their visit, Mr. Nacionales served as one of the plenary speakers at the International Conference on Agriculture, Engineering, Social Science, and Education (ICAESSE) 2024 with the theme “Creating Sustainable Environment through Digital Transformation in Higher Education” organized by Universitas Palembang (UNPAL).
Meanwhile, Prof. Aure presented a paper in the said conference entitled: Gearing Towards Internationalization in the English Program: Students’ Perspectives and challenges in a State University in the Philippines and Indonesia. Also, the EVSU Delegates attended a partnership meeting with the faculty of English Education Study Program and conducted lectures with the faculty and students of UNPAL, entitled: EVSU Internationalization Journey and Responsible and Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence in English Language Education and Research. The partnership of EVSU and UNPAL is hoped to foster a more globally connected academic community by showcasing their commitment to cross-border academic engagement and knowledge exchange.
