News Univ joins ASEAN-themed flag-raising ceremony

Tacloban City, Philippines – Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) joined the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and various ASEAN-affiliated higher education institutes in attending a simultaneous flag-raising ceremony held via Zoom on August 5, 2024. This virtual gathering was organized in celebration of the upcoming ASEAN Celebration, with the theme “Enhancing Connectivity and Resilience.”

EVSU administrators and faculty wore attires representing Malaysia, the university’s assigned member state, while others donned traditional Filipino attire during the ceremony. This gesture showcased EVSU’s collective commitment to the ASEAN community and its values. Further, this collaboration symbolizes the institute’s appreciation of ASEAN’s rich cultural and regional diversity.

By participating in this unified flag-raising ceremony, EVSU highlighted its role in promoting interconnectedness and mutual support within the region. The event underscored the significance of collaboration and solidarity in overcoming challenges and achieving sustainable development.
