Hsinchu City, Taiwan – EVSU, represented by its Vice President for Research and Development and Extension Services (VPRDE), Dr. Analyn C. Españo was invited to join in this year’s International Joint Research and Training Workshop on Environmentally Green Technology for Sustainable Development Goals and Net Zero Emission last October 29 to November 9.
The training workshop, granted by the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) of Taiwan is a 10-day course, organized and hosted by the National Tsing Hua University (NTHU), and led by NTHUs Prof. Ruey-an Dong with the assistance of Dr. Hui Lin Ong. Said program’s main goals align with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals of climate action and responsible consumption and production.
EVSU is one of only 31 agencies selected to participate in the program in Taiwan, out of over 500 applicants worldwide. Participating nations include the Philippines, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Laos, Indonesia, Malaysia, India, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.
VPRDE Dr. Españo returned hopeful to apply what she has learned into the university’s processes. By applying the best practices shared by the visiting universities and industries during the event, she sees great potential to improve EVSU’s research and development efforts. Further, the connections forged with scientists and scholars at the event opens opportunities to usher meaningful research collaborations to further elevate EVSU’s initiatives.
