News EVSU Eagles dominate RSCUAA eSports; bags gold in all categories

TACLOBAN CITY – The EVSU Eagles have made history after becoming the first-ever champions of the Eastern Visayas RSCUAA Esports Games. With dominant performances from both the men’s and women’s divisions in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, EVSU now proudly carries the banner of Region 8 as they prepare for the National SCUAA in April.

The games officially kicked off on March 11, with a promising start for the Eagles. The Lady Eagles set the pace with a flawless 2-0 record in the round-robin stage, finishing first in their group. Meanwhile, the men’s team advanced convincingly to the crossover stage, suffering only a single loss in their group assignments.

During finals day, the lady Eagles dismantled the BIPSU Tigers in a convincing 4-0 sweep in the women’s division finals. Series MVP and Midlaner, Angeline “Eudaimonia” A. Riel, consistently outclassed the competition despite her heroes being banned with high priority.

The winning momentum carried into the afternoon as the EVSU Eagles Men’s team fended off the BIPSU Tiger’s in a 3-1 win during their semi-final bout.

Our boys in red and white then faced off against the UP Fighting Maroons in the finals of the Men’s category. The Eagles came out swinging, winning the first two games in decisive fashion. However, UP fought back after a nail-biting victory in Game 3, halting EVSU’s momentum and showing signs of a comeback. Game 4 saw the Fighting Maroons find their rhythm, securing objectives left and right, but the Eagles quickly turned the tides with clutch team fights, resulting in them consistently taking both Games 4 and 5. The Eagles closed out the series with a commanding 4-1 standing.

Standout performances came from the team’s Roamer, Renante “Rennn” S. Espina Jr., and EXP Laner, Dick Gabriel “Gab1yuu” M. Ramos, who were key in dismantling the Fighting Maroon’s formations and securing crucial team fights.

As both the men’s and women’s teams take flight to represent Region 8 on the national stage in Camiguin, the EVSU community stands behind them, ready to witness another chapter of their winning legacy.
