The halls of the People’s Center and Library bore witness to heartfelt goodbyes, and bright smiles as Eastern Visayas State University’s Secondary Laboratory School (EVSU-SLS) held its Recognition Day, Moving Up, and Graduation Ceremonies on May 9, 2025.
The morning began with the SLS Recognition Day, where the university proudly honored outstanding Junior and Senior High School students for their academic excellence and dedication throughout the school year. Parents, faculty, and guests gathered to celebrate the hard work and resilience of EVSU’s young achievers.
In the afternoon, the spotlight turned to the Grade 10 completers and Grade 12 graduates during the Moving Up and Graduation Rites. The rites doubled as a solemn moment of reflection once the EVSUnistas received their certificates and diplomas, each one a symbol of their growth, perseverance, and potential. This year’s ceremonies held deeper significance, as the university bids adieu to its final batch of Senior High School (SHS) students in a bittersweet celebration.
According to the SLS administration, this year closes the chapter on EVSU’s SHS program, making the 2025 graduates the university’s last Senior High School students. The occasion was both a celebration of achievement and a poignant farewell, leaving the community with a sense of pride and nostalgia.
To all the honorees, completers, and graduates, congratulations! As this chapter ends, may you carry the EVSU spirit forward and continue to strive for excellence, wherever your paths may lead.
