News EVSU Joins Nation in Celebrating 2025 ASEAN Month with Virtual Flag Ceremony

In celebration of the 2025 ASEAN Month, Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) actively participated in the nationwide virtual simultaneous flag ceremony led by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), commemorating this year’s theme, “Buwan ng ASEAN: Sama-Sama sa Pag-Unlad.”

Faculty and staff from EVSU’s main and satellite campuses donned ASEAN-inspired attire during the online gathering, showcasing their solidarity and cultural appreciation in line with CHED Regional Memorandum Order No. 104, s. 2025. The ceremony marked the beginning of a month-long celebration emphasizing unity, inclusivity, and sustainable development among ASEAN nations.

The theme, which promotes shared growth and equitable progress, echoes values championed by Malaysia during its chairmanship of ASEAN, highlighting that development must benefit all with a strong reminder that no one should be left behind.

The university’s involvement in the ASEAN Month observance reflects its continued dedication to fostering awareness of regional cooperation and its role in nation-building.
