In a dominating display of athletic prowess, the Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) Eagles soared victoriously during the recently concluded 38th Eastern Visayas Regional State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) Games, emerging as the overall first runner-up in this year’s regional tilt.
Hosted by Northwest Samar State University (NwSSU), the 2024 SCUAA Games brought together around 11 athletic delegations from state universities and colleges (SUCs) across Region 8, each vying for dominance in various sporting events.
To the resonant anthem of the Games, “Larab sa Kadaugan” or “Spark to Victory,” “Larab sa Kadaugan” or “Spark to Victory” the EVSU Eagles definitely fluorished, delivering an exceptional performance, clinching a total of 67 gold, 43 silver, and 58 bronze medals, a massive leap from last year’s record of 51 gold, 33 silver, and 52 bronze finishes.
This impressive medal haul propelled EVSU to the second-highest overall standing, solidifying its formidable standing in the field of sports as well as its stature as “The Home of Champions”.
The Eagles now return to their home grounds bearing this triumph, a product of the tireless efforts of their athletes, the guidance of their coaches, and the dedicated support of the entire EVSU community.
As the dust settles on the 38th SCUAA Games, the EVSU Eagles fly with their relentless pursuit of excellence fueling greater anticipation for the next season of competition.
