Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) has begun thorough disinfection of classrooms, offices, laboratories, restrooms, and other shared areas following confirmed cases of Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease (HFMD) on its Main Campus. This cleaning effort aims to prevent further transmission and ensure a safe environment before students and staff return to in-person classes.
To support the disinfection process, the university has shifted all classes to online and asynchronous modes from October 6 to 10, 2025. Students are strictly advised not to enter the campus during this period. The campus store, TechnoMart, will also be temporarily closed, and non-teaching personnel have been directed to clean and sanitize their offices and workspaces thoroughly.
After assessing the situation, the EVSU administration continues to prioritize the health and safety of the university community by actively monitoring the situation and working closely with health authorities to control the spread of the infection.
The university also urges everyone to practice proper hygiene and report any HFMD symptoms immediately to the university health services for prompt attention.
