News #TatakEVSUnista athletes Arbilon, Aranzado clinch silver medals at SEA Games 2025

Two proud EVSUnistas have made their mark on the international stage, earning silver medals for Team Philippines in the SEA Games 2025 held in Thailand.

Princess Honey Arbilon, a third-year Bachelor of Physical Education (BPED) student from the EVSU Ormoc Campus, captured the silver medal in the Modern Pentathlon – Women’s Laser Run after posting a time of 13:30 against the region’s top athletes. Her achievement builds on a strong competitive record, following her performance at the SCUAA 2024 where she delivered EVSU’s first two gold medals in Athletics by ruling the 1,500-meter and 5,000-meter runs.

Shyra Mae Aranzado, also a third-year BPED student from the Ormoc Campus, secured silver in the Modern Pentathlon Triathle, clocking an impressive total time of 18:29.30. Her podium finish further highlights EVSU’s presence in high-level international competitions.

Both Arbilon and Aranzado previously dominated the regional stage during last year’s SCUAA competitions, earning multiple gold medals while representing EVSU. Their progression from regional meets to the SEA Games reflects consistent performance and competitive excellence.

The EVSU community extends its congratulations to Princess Honey Arbilon and Shyra Mae Aranzado for their outstanding performances, which brought pride to the university and to the country they represented at the SEA Games 2025.
