The Office for Innovation, under the direction of Dr. Wendie C. Velarde, successfully concluded its three‑day seminar workshop yesterday. This annual training brings together academicians from various institutions to immerse themselves in the foundation of claim drafting and patent search.
A key focus of the event was the importance of patent search, with sessions covering its orientation, basic tools, and forms. To enrich the discussions, distinguished experts were invited, including Prof. Lucio G. Joseco Jr., Prof. Jeremiah Edison C. Nicart, and Prof. Mark Joseph A. Cabinong, ITSO Head.
Throughout the workshop, participants engaged in a writing exercise that spanned the three days. The activity culminated in a successful presentation of outputs, showcasing the effectiveness of the training and the collaboration of the attendees.
The event once again demonstrated the value of promoting innovation and equipping educators with practical knowledge in intellectual property, ensuring that academic institutions remain active contributors to research and development.
