News EVSU BSBA-MM Students Showcase Disaster Preparedness Campaigns in R.E.A.D.D.Y. Exhibit

In support of the 2026 National Disaster Resilience Month observance in July, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Marketing Management (BSBA-MM) students of Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) showcased their creativity, innovation, and strategic communication skills through R.E.A.D.D.Y. (Relevance. Effectiveness. Accuracy. Design. Delivery. Yield): A Showcase of DRR 223 Outputs, a class activity conducted under the advisory of Prof. Charlie Ripalda.

The exhibit featured a diverse collection of student-produced Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) communication materials, including advocacy videos, informative brochures, and interactive dioramas designed to promote disaster preparedness and strengthen public awareness on resilience. Each output demonstrated the students’ ability to translate complex DRRM concepts into engaging and accessible communication campaigns that effectively educate and inspire communities.

Anchored on the R.E.A.D.D.Y. framework—Relevance, Effectiveness, Accuracy, Design, Delivery, and Yield—the outputs were evaluated based on their ability to communicate critical safety information creatively, accurately, and persuasively. The activity challenged students to develop campaigns that not only conveyed essential disaster preparedness messages but also encouraged proactive community participation in disaster risk reduction.

Held as part of EVSU’s observance of National Disaster Resilience Month, the exhibit complemented this year’s national theme, “Naghahanda at Kumikilos Tungo sa Panatag na Bagong Pilipinas,” emphasizing the shared responsibility of individuals and communities in building a culture of preparedness, resilience, and sustainable development.

Through the creation of multimedia campaigns and visual communication materials, students applied fundamental marketing concepts to address real-world social issues. The activity enabled them to strengthen competencies in strategic communication, content creation, visual storytelling, branding, audience engagement, campaign planning, and digital marketing, essential skills that will prepare them for careers in marketing, advertising, public relations, corporate communications, and the creative industries.

The initiative reflects EVSU’s commitment to providing experiential learning opportunities that develop not only industry-ready marketing professionals but also socially responsible graduates capable of creating meaningful campaigns that contribute to safer, more resilient communities and nation-building.
