News BSHM students complete Tourism Excellence training with DOT VIII

Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) students of the EVSU main campus successfully completed the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE) training, conducted by the Department of Tourism (DOT) Region VIII from September 24 to 25 at the Graduate Program Function Hall.

Resource speaker Victorino D. Mendiola III, a DOT-accredited FBSE speaker, facilitated comprehensive sessions covering essential foundational modules: an introduction to the Philippine Tourism Industry, the 7Ms of Filipino Hospitality, Service Excellence in Tourism, the G.U.E.S.T. steps to service, and the H.E.A.R.T. of Service Recovery.

The training modules were executed across two consecutive days to accommodate two distinct batches of BSHM students, ensuring hands-on engagement and optimal learning conditions. The program was designed to equip future hospitality professionals with core industry competencies and enhance their readiness for successful careers in tourism and hospitality management.

By instilling culturally rooted service standards and professional ethics, the initiative strengthens student capabilities to meet both local and global industry demands.

This initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 04: Quality Education, and SDG 08: Decent Work and Economic Growth.
