EVSU, through the Gender and Development (GAD) Office, in partnership with the Medical Office and the Department of Counseling and Human Services (DCHS) conducted a two-day Information Session on Mental Health and Sexual Reproductive Health Rights on October 28–29, 2026, at the ORIES Studio Room.
The two-day initiative equipped EVSU students and personnel with vital knowledge, psychological toolkits, and health advocacy resources to support holistic personal wellness and informed decision-making.
The session featured comprehensive Mental Health Awareness talks facilitated by Dr. Cherie Guy B. Giray, Head of the Department of Counseling and Human Services and Concurrent Guidance Counselor Designate. Dr. Giray emphasized the critical importance of emotional resilience, proactive stress management, destigmatizing mental health challenges within the campus environment, and fostering supportive peer networks for academic and professional success.
Complementing the mental health discussions, Dr. Loren Bernadette D. Banario, University Physician, led the sessions on Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR).
By integrating psychological care and health rights advocacy, the collaborative initiative reinforces EVSU’s proactive stance in creating a safe, responsive, and gender-affirming learning environment that prioritizes the overall well-being and rights of every EVSUnista.
