Building Bridges for Sustainable and Inclusive Development

In pursuit of its mandate as a state university responsive to regional and national development priorities, Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) actively cultivates local and international partnerships that strengthen its capacity to deliver quality instruction, research, extension, and production services. These collaborations embody the University’s commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by fostering cooperation across sectors and borders to advance inclusive and sustainable growth.

At the local level, EVSU forges dynamic linkages with government agencies, local government units (LGUs), industries, civil society organizations, and community groups. These partnerships ensure that university programs remain responsive to the socio-economic and cultural contexts of Eastern Visayas, while contributing to regional innovation and resiliency. Through joint projects, capability-building initiatives, policy research, and technology transfer programs, EVSU translates academic expertise into practical solutions that uplift local communities. These engagements also create opportunities for student internships, faculty immersion, and applied research, bridging classroom learning with real-world applications.

At the international level, EVSU pursues strategic collaborations and Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with higher education institutions, research organizations, industries, and development agencies worldwide. Anchored on the Philippine Higher Education Internationalization Framework and aligned with SDGs 4 (Quality Education), 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), 13 (Climate Action), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), these global linkages expand the University’s research horizons, foster cross-cultural exchange, and enhance institutional competitiveness. Through student and faculty exchanges, joint research projects, participation in international conferences, and knowledge-sharing platforms, EVSU contributes to global discourses on sustainability, climate resiliency, and innovation.

Over the years, EVSU has built a broad ecosystem of partnerships formalized through Memoranda of Agreement (MOAs), MOUs, and cooperative research initiatives. These include collaborations with LGUs, national government agencies, industries, hospitals, NGOs, and international research centers, addressing key regional and global challenges in food innovation, climate resilience, textile development, and metals and engineering applications.

Through these sustained partnerships, Eastern Visayas State University affirms its role as a catalyst for regional growth and a proactive contributor to global development. By integrating local engagement with international collaboration, EVSU continues to champion academic excellence, innovation, and social responsibility—strengthening collective efforts toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
