News Eastern Visayas State University trains the 2nd batch of Internal Auditors

With the aim of strengthening the University’s image and quality service, EVSU once again conducts an Internal Quality Auditor’s Training for its second batch of trainees on April 20-21, 2022 at the EVSU Graduate School Function Room.

During the opening program earlier, Vice President for Internationalization and External Affairs, Dr. Danilo B. Pulma highlighted in his welcome speech that ISO certification plays a significant part in the university’s internationalization journey. He further shared that “…the internal auditors of any organization is central to the success of their quality management system, so ensuring that they are fully informed and properly trained is the first step in security quality driven feature”.

Meanwhile, Dr. Felixberto E. Avestruz, Vice President for Administration and Finance, also stressed in his special message that an Internal Quality Audit Management is an important component to ensure optimal performance of a quality management system. The goal of an internal audit is to gather information about the effectiveness of the quality system.

Engr. Roque Costiniano, the head of the Quality Management System likewise shared the salient activities of this 2-day training, of which the highlight is the mock audit on the 2nd day when the participants will engage with the select auditees. With this, he further emphasized that the program entails planning, actual execution and reporting of results of the mock audit.

Meanwhile, Engr. Costiniano in his closing statement addressed the future internal auditors that “this training will empower them, develop their skills and competence specifically in conducting quality audits and in objectively verifying the effectiveness of the implementation of the Quality Management System of the University”. With that, he encouraged the participants to actively participate and enjoy the rest of the training.

The said batch of trainees finished yesterday the ISO 9001: 2015 Foundation Course with Ms. Arlene E. Concio of DNV-GL.
