News EVCIEERD convenes RDE enthusiasts in webinars

The Eastern Visayas Consortium for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development convened the Research, Development and Extension faculty and administrators in the back-to-back webinars on October 21-22, 2021 via zoom.

The Senior Economic Development Specialist of the National Economic and Development Authority VIII, Engr. Prisco Boco III tackled the topic on “Project Monitoring and Evaluation” while the Project Manager of PCIEERD Impact Assessment of Projects, Mr. Ulysses M. Palmones delivered the lecture on “Impact Assessment of Funded Researches”.

The presentation of Dr. Karina Milagros R. Cui-Lim of her funded project made the discussion on Impact Assessment of Funded Researches more substantive and engaging.

The webinars served as the avenue for the members of the consortium to be oriented on how to conduct project monitoring, evaluation and impact assessment; have a full grasp of the issues and concerns on project monitoring, evaluation and impact assessment; and to strengthen consortium’s capability on project monitoring, evaluation and impact assessment.

A total of 148 RDE Faculty and Administrators from Eastern Visayas State University, Leyte Normal University, Samar State University, Southern Leyte State University, Visayas State University, Northwest Samar State University, University of Eastern Philippines, Eastern Samar State University, Palompon Institute of Technology, and Biliran Province State University attended the webinars.

The webinars on “Project Monitoring and Evaluation” and “Impact Assessment of Funded Researches” were the brain-child of Dr. Ramil T. Uy, EVCIEERD consortium coordinator, who observed the neglect of these aspects in consortium’s funded researches.

The Chair of the Technical Working Group and the VP-RDE of Eastern Visayas State University, Dr. Ma. Cristina I. Caintic corroborated with the observation and added that these activities are also being looked into in the AACCUP accreditation of universities.

The Resource Generation Committee of the consortium chaired by Dr. Antonia Mendoza, VP-RDE of PIT, in collaboration with Dr. Marianne Agnes T. Mendoza, VP-RDE of BIPSU, Dr. Karina Milagros C.Lim, VP-RDE of UEP, and Dr. Rhodora C. Mendoza, VP-RDE of ESSU spearheaded the activity and facilitated by Dr. Leancel M. Homeres, the Head Secretariat of EVCIEERD and the Managing Editor of Innovative Technology and Management Journal of Eastern Visayas State University.

The Chair of the Board of Directors and the University President of Eastern Visayas State University, Dr. Dennis C. de Paz delivered his inspirational message in Day 1 while Dr. Victor Cañezo, Jr. awed the participants in Day 2 with his engaging message of inspiration.

Also present in the occasion were Dr. Norberto Olavides who gave the Welcome Remarks in Day 1 while Dr. Andres Pagatpatan welcomed the attendees in Day 2.

The VP-RDE of ESSU, Dr. Rhodora Mendoza delivered the closing remarks in Day 1 while the University President of University of Eastern Philippines sealed the activity in Day 2 with a message of motivation and inspiration for the next endeavors of the consortium.
