“Salamat po Lord! It’s an honor na maging bahagi yung obra ko sa isang malaking painting competition sa bansa. Manalo o matalo, I will still continue my passion”.

Mr. Christian Cabillo, an EVSU 2018 alumnus of Bachelor of Science in Architecture in EVSU main campus, expressed these words of gratitude when he posted in his June 5, 2021 Facebook account a congratulatory letter from the GSIS MUSEUM ng Sining that his entry under Representational Category qualified to compete in the 2021 GSIS National Art Competition.

On June 25, he once shared the good news when his artwork entitled “Sakripisyo ng Maginhawang Bukas” was awarded via Zoom as Honorable Mention in the said Prestigious Art competition in the Philippines. Still with full of gratitude, he again posted, “Salamat po sa GSIS sa opportunity na binigay niyo sa akin na mapabilang sa Honorable Mention ng Painting Competition Representational Category. At sa Diyos na nagbigay sa akin ng talentong ito. Mabuhay ang Sining!”

Mr. Cabillo also hailed as the 3rd prize winner of the recent Provincial Kabataan Kontra Krimen Droga at Terorismo (KK2DAT) Sining Bayanihan Arts and Culture Competition VISUAL ARTS (POSTER/PAINTING) Category.

Mr. Cabillo, a Waray local artist, takes art for a cause which is evident in his active involvement in the different activities of Waraynon Social Art Club whose advocacy includes “Giving Back to the Community”.
