EVSU President Dr. Dennis C. de Paz and DOST RD Engr. Ernesto M. Granada formally inked a Memorandum of Understanding as a testament to forge collaborative work through an on-going study entitled: “A Comprehensive Analysis of the Flooding Problem in Palo, Leyte and nearby Municipalities” on Friday, June 18 at OPRDExS Studio Room.
The MOU states full cooperation of EVSU and DOST RO8 for the realization of the study as one of many initiatives of EVSU to becoming a premier research university in the region.
Flooding is a perennial problem of the Municipality of Palo, Leyte which hampers the economic development of the said town. The study is expected to provide solutions for the recurrent flooding and usher in numerous economic and human activities in this part of Eastern Visayas.
Vice President for Planning, Research & Development, and Extension Services Dr. Ma. Cristina I. Caintic; OIC – Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Lydia Morante; NAST Academician Dr. Alvin Culaba and DOST Leyte PSTD Dr. John Glenn Ocana with Ms. Darlene Lendero and Ms. Alexadra Magdales were also present during the said event.
