The Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) is proud to announce its participation in the 2024 Taiwan-Philippines Medical Leaders’ Forum, held from May 7-10, 2024, in Taiwan. The university was one of only ten universities from the Philippines selected by the Taiwan Education Center to attend this esteemed event.
The forum aims to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange in the field of medical education, providing a platform for leaders from various leading Philippine and Taiwanese universities to discuss key trends, challenges, and innovations. Participants engaged in meaningful discussions and visited renowned Taiwanese universities to enhance mutual understanding and explore potential partnerships.
Topics covered at the forum included curriculum development, research collaborations, student mobility and global rotation, long-term care, and the latest advancements in medical education. EVSU’s involvement in these discussions underscores its commitment to advancing medical and technological education and contributing to the global exchange of knowledge and expertise.
Dr. Dennis C. De Paz, EVSU President, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Our participation in the Taiwan-Philippines Medical Leaders’ Forum was another significant opportunity for EVSU to strengthen its internationalization program. It allowed us to collaborate with international peers, learn from their experiences, and bring back valuable insights to enhance our medical education programs. We are dedicated to fostering an environment of excellence and innovation for our students and faculty.”

The partnerships and collaborations formed during the event are expected to pave the way for future advancements and opportunities for our students and faculty.
With Dr. De Paz in this Study Mission were, Prof. Bernard Nino Membrebe, the Dean of the College of Technology where the Nutrition and Dietetic Program is lodged and the Director of Internationalization of EVSU, Prof. Faustito A. Aure.
This Forum and Study Mission Trip is now the result of the various consortia which the Eastern Visayas State University has joined in recent years. EVSU is a proud member of the Edu-Connect Southeast Asia Association. Edu-Connect SEA was responsible for the introduction of various technological networks and associations to EVSU.
