Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) has welcomed close to 2,000 delegates from various towns in Leyte as part of preparations for the Pintados‑Kasadyaan Festival of Festivals, scheduled on June 27, 2024 at the Leyte Sports Development Center.
The housing initiative forms part of the 135th Fiesta Celebration in honor of Señor Sto. Niño de Tacloban. EVSU has designated several campus buildings to accommodate performers who will represent their municipalities and showcase their cultural traditions during the annual festival.
Delegates from four towns have been assigned to specific university facilities:
Matag‑ob (Himorasak Festival): 350 delegates housed at the ABS‑CBN Building
Alang‑alang (Lingganay Festival): 400 delegates housed at the College of Engineering Building
Burauen (Buraburon Festival): 500 delegates housed at the Academic Building (CAS) and COBE Building
Abuyog (Buyogan Festival): 600 delegates housed at the Science, Maritime, and Technology Buildings
EVSU officials expressed pride in supporting one of Eastern Visayas’ largest cultural events, noting that the university’s participation helps ensure a safe and comfortable stay for the performers while strengthening regional cultural heritage.
The Pintados‑Kasadyaan Festival remains one of Leyte’s most anticipated celebrations, bringing together vibrant dance contingents, local traditions, and community pride. EVSU’s involvement underscores its commitment to public service and cultural preservation.
The initiative supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) particularly SDG 04: Quality education; SDG 17: Partnerships for the goals
