Srisavarindhira Thai Red Cross Institute of Nursing (STIN), Thailand and Eastern Visayas State University sealed their partnership in Instruction, Research and Development and Extension, and Internationalization Programs through signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), March 23, 2023, 2:00 pm via zoom.
The said collaboration shall include, but not limited to the following initiatives and engagements: collaboration in Research and Development; curricula enhancement and professional upskilling courses; promoting international linkages in Higher Education; international lectures, seminars and symposia; academic and career/professional advancement programmes; and student/faculty mobility/ immersion and other academic and cultural cooperation as mutually agreed.
The key officials of both universities were present in the said event, namely:Assist.Prof. Dr. Kanogwan Suwanpatikorn, acting President; Dr. Vilailert Komton, acting Vice-President, and in-charge of International Relations; Asst. Prof. Phawida Putthikhan, acting Vice-President; and Asst. Prof. Sarinrat Wattanatornnan, acting Vice-President of Srisavarindhira Thai Red Cross Institute of Nursing,Thailand.
Meanwhile, Dr. Dennis C. de Paz, University President; Dr. Lydia M. Morante,Vice-President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Analyn C. Españo, Vice-President for Research,Development and Extension; Dr. Danilo B. Pulma, Vice-President for Internationalization and External Affairs; and Dr. Benedicto T.Militante, Jr., Vice-President for Administration and Finance represented the Eastern Visayas State University.
The partnership will further strengthen the Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics (BSND) of Eastern Visayas State University and the Bachelor of Science in Nursing of Srisavarindhira Thai Red Cross Institute of Nursing.
Both teams look forward for the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between the two programs.
The partnership of the two universities was the outcome of the recent involvement of the Vice-President for Internationalization and External Affairs, Dr. Danilo B. Pulma and Dr. Analyn C. Españo, the Vice-President for Research, Development, and Extension Services in the Association of Southeast Asian Institutions of Higher Learning (ASAIHL) International Conference on Higher Education Reshaping for Resilience in Post COVID-19 Era at Sukhothai Treasure Resort and Spa, Sukhothai Province, Thailand last November 8-10, 2022.
The membership of the university to ASAIHL widened its multi-sectoral engagements. One of the recent opportunities that the organization is offering is the ASAIHL Fellowship Program for distinguished scholars. The purpose of the Fellowship is to enable faculty or staff members to spend time visiting at an ASAIHL member institution.
With this, the university looks forward for the engagement of faculty members to the said program.
