GAD Exhibits Digital Photographs, Visual Art Works

In consonance to the celebration of Women’s Month, the Gender and Development (GAD) Office of Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) opened the Digital Photography and Visual Art Exhibit at the Administration Building Lobby on March 21, Tuesday.

In collaboration with the Philippine Institute of Interior Design – Student Auxiliary Body (PIID-SAB), the exhibition featured student-created images and posters advocating gender equality and women empowerment.

Dr. Dennis de Paz, University President, and other significant officials graced the exhibit and the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

For the Visual Art Making, the outputs were judged based on the following criteria: relevance to the theme- 40%; originality- 25%; creativity- 20%; and color harmony and visual impact- 15%.

Meanwhile, the criteria set for digital photography were the following: relevance to the theme- 50%; creativity and aesthetic appeal-25%; and layout, perspective, and originality- 25%.

The winners for the Visual Art Contest were the following:  1st prize- Ram Ram Vanilla; 2nd prize – Nelson Mascarinas; and  3rd prize- Angeline Amador while for the Digital Photography Contest, the winners were as follows: 1st prize- Ma. Victoria Cairah G. Peren; 2nd prize -Alfred Quimsing;2nd prize- Antonette Labrague; and 3rd prize – April Grace Nolasco.

The winners received cash prize and certificate while the non-winners received certificate and token.

The event was made possible through the support of the key officials of the university who donated the cash prizes and tokens.

The Director for Gender and Development, Dr. Fatima Socorro Quianzon was grateful to EVSU community for joining in the advocacy for equality, equity, and inclusivity.
