The members of the Philippine American Academy of Science and Engineering (PAASE) had a dialogue with the key officials of Eastern Visayas State University to reinforce scientific endeavors and unfurl technological homeostasis that will benefit the EVSU community, the locality, and society in general.
The meet and greet activity was attended by honored scientists and academicians, the University President, Vice Presidents, Campus Directors, and Deans at the Graduate School Function Hall.
The said dialogue occurred simultaneously with the parallel sessions and paper presentations of participants for iSTEAM 2022.
It aimed to increase bilateral agreement as regards the possibility of sending Filipino scholars and EVSU faculty to Taiwan universities through the International Master Scholarship Program. These include accommodation, pecuniary matters, internship, itinerary, legal documents, and post-scholarship agreement.
The dialogue provided an opportunity for the potential qualifiers of the scholarship grants to ask questions with regard to networking the university with Taiwan Universities, namely: National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology, Kaohsiung Medical University College of Pharmacy, National Chung Hsing University College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, and National Yunlin University.
Dr. Tim Eing Ming Wu, Chair Professor at Shu-Te University, elucidated that such scholarship invites Filipino faculty-students to apply and to grab the opportunity of studying abroad, honing their skills, deepening their knowledge in their fields of expertise, and sharing their knowledge through innovation and discoveries after studying. It further includes enrolling themselves in Master’s degree and Doctorate programs in the Engineering strand.
The esteemed scientists : Dr. Joel Cuello,EVSU’s Balik Scientist; Dr. Mariano Sto. Domingo; Academician Alvin Culaba; Academician Gisela Concepcion; and Dr. Tim Eing Ming Wu forged their synergistic effort to revolutionize society towards digitalization through the integration of Science, Technology, Engineering, Agri-fisheries, and Mathematics.
The activity ended with the commitment from the University President, Dr. Dennis C. de Paz, to expedite the endorsement and recommendation of faculty members to study in the above mentioned universities through scholarship grants.
