The Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) was proudly represented by Princess Maribeth C. Arandia and Thi Quang Am P. Nguyen (COE-Main Campus BSIT Students) at the Asian Technological University Network (ATU-Net) Student Leaders’ Forum (SeLF) 2024, hosted by Phenikaa University in Hanoi, Vietnam from September 10-14, 2024. This influential international gathering brought together student leaders from across Asia to engage in meaningful discussions on advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (D.E.I.) in educational institutions.
The forum provided an invaluable platform for participants to exchange ideas, share best practices, and foster a stronger commitment to D.E.I. values. Through focused group discussions (FGDs), workshops, collaborative activities, and networking opportunities, Arandia and Nguyen explored ways to champion inclusivity within their university and beyond. They engaged with peers from diverse backgrounds, enriching their perspectives on how student leadership can drive positive change in educational settings.
Reflecting on their experience, both EVSU representatives emphasized the transformative impact of the forum. The event underscored the crucial role that student leaders play in creating inclusive, forward-thinking educational environments. Their participation reinforces EVSU’s dedication to fostering globally aware, empowered student leaders who are prepared to advocate for equity and inclusion in their communities.
