Policy Statement
Pursuant to Philippine Agenda 21, the National Economic and Development Authority’s (NEDA) SDG localization framework, and in alignment with the UN 2030 Agenda, Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) affirms its commitment to building strong, inclusive, and transformative partnerships that accelerate the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the local, national, and global levels.
EVSU shall:
Strengthen multi-stakeholder collaboration with government agencies, local government units (LGUs), industries, academic institutions, civil society, and international organizations to co-create programs, projects, and research aligned with the SDGs.
Enhance resource mobilization and shared responsibility by pursuing joint initiatives, grants, and funding mechanisms that support innovation, infrastructure development, and sustainability-driven research and extension services.
Promote knowledge sharing and capacity-building through conferences, academic exchanges, joint research, and open-access platforms that disseminate best practices in education, resiliency, and sustainability.
Foster internationalization and global linkages by engaging in cross-border academic partnerships, student and faculty mobility, and collaborative projects with universities and networks worldwide.
Advance community empowerment and local development by partnering with LGUs and grassroots organizations in implementing education, livelihood, and climate resilience programs that directly benefit vulnerable and marginalized groups.
Integrate SDG partnerships into teaching, research, and extension to ensure that collaboration is embedded in the academic culture and translates into real-world impact.
Institutionalize monitoring and accountability mechanisms to assess partnership outcomes, measure contributions to the SDGs, and continuously improve collaboration strategies.
Through these initiatives, EVSU envisions itself as a dynamic hub of partnerships and shared innovation, fostering collective action that drives inclusive growth, sustainable development, and global cooperation toward the achievement of the SDGs.
