The Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) takes another proactive step toward environmental stewardship and climate responsibility by formally partnering with ASEZ WAO-an international volunteer organization known worldwide for its environmental initiatives-and also with various government agencies, to strengthen its initiatives for sustainability and climate action.
As a first step under this partnership, EVSU, ASEZ WAO, and partner agencies launched an initial campus wide clean-up drive on November 20.
The activity brought together EVSU student organizations, ASEZ WAO volunteers, and personnel from the Philippine National Police (PNP) to clean the area surrounding the LIFE Center up to the Graduate School Building.
The participants worked hand in hand to collect litter and restore order to key areas of the main campus.
While the campus clean-up demonstrated immediate results, it represents only the beginning of broader initiatives that will continue in phases.
With ASEZ WAO’s international reputation for leading environmental projects and the active involvement of government partners, future clean-up drives are envisioned to expand beyond the campus and into surrounding communities.
Through this partnership, EVSU and all parties involved have laid the groundwork for continuous environmental care, stronger community engagement, and long-term contributions to climate resilience.
