Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) proudly announces the active participation of one of its academic leaders, Associate Professor Faustito A. Aure, in the World University Association for Community Development – Organization of Islamic Cooperation Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation Academic (WUACD-OIC-COMSTECH) Leaders Forum held on May 2–9, 2026 in Islamabad. The prestigious international gathering brought together academic leaders, researchers, and development practitioners from various countries to discuss contemporary issues in higher education, sustainable development, community-driven research, and global academic collaboration. The forum served as a strategic platform for strengthening international partnerships and promoting innovative approaches toward inclusive and sustainable education.
During the international engagement, EVSU’s representative, Prof. Aure also participated as an invited Paper Presenter and Panelist in the Symposium on Indoor Air Pollution on May 6, 2026 at Bahria University. The presentation, entitled “Raising Global Awareness on Indoor Air Pollution in Rural Communities,” highlighted the urgent need to address indoor air pollution as a serious health and environmental concern affecting vulnerable rural populations worldwide. The symposium emphasized sustainable solutions, community awareness, and collaborative actions toward healthier and safer communities.
Moreover, on May 7, 2026, Prof. Aure was invited as a Speaker during the International Conference on Society, Sustainability and Social Transformation in the Digital Era, also hosted by Bahria University through its Department of Humanities and Social Sciences. The presentation focused on “Social Change, Technological Advancement and Sustainable Development,” emphasizing the role of innovation, technology, and education in building resilient and sustainable communities in today’s rapidly evolving digital world.
The participation of EVSU in these international academic activities reflects the university’s continuing commitment to global engagement, internationalization, research collaboration, and community development. The knowledge, experiences, and partnerships gained from these engagements are expected to further strengthen the university’s programs in instruction, research, extension services, and international cooperation. Likewise, these opportunities enhance the visibility of EVSU in the global academic community while contributing to the advancement of sustainable and socially responsive education initiatives for the benefit of the people of Eastern Visayas and beyond.
