News EVSU forms global ties and climate action commitments at 2026 WUACD summit in Bali, Indonesia

In a major stride toward internationalization and climate resilience, EVSU, represented by University President Dr. Dennis C. de Paz and Director for Internationalization Affairs Prof. Faustito A. Aure, participated in the World University Association for Community Development (WUACD) Summit 2026.

Held from June 21 to 23 in Bali, Indonesia, the summit was held in conjunction with the 15th Korea–ASEAN Joint Symposium on Biomass Utilization and Renewable Energy Tourism.

A key highlight of the three-day event was the formal signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between EVSU and the WUACD. This strategic agreement directly supports EVSU’s vision of transforming into the National University for Resilience and Climate Action (NURCA). The partnership opens immediate doors for future academic collaborations, joint research publications, faculty exchanges, and student mobility initiatives with international partner institutions across Korea and the ASEAN region.

Throughout the convention, the EVSU delegation engaged in intensive plenary and technical sessions focused on cutting-edge innovations in biomass conversion, renewable energy solutions, and sustainable tourism frameworks. The discussions underscored the critical role that universities play in translating scientific research into practical, community-based environmental initiatives and circular economies.

Moving forward, EVSU’s internationalization office plans to roll out a comprehensive re-entry action plan. This includes conducting campus-wide echo seminars to share technical insights, identifying new institutional research opportunities in biomass and renewable energy, and aggressively integrating these sustainability benchmarks into the university’s core instruction and community extension programs.
