Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) has made its global debut in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Ratings 2026, placing in the 801–1000 global bracket among 1,603 participating universities worldwide.
The milestone marks EVSU’s first-ever participation in the prestigious global evaluation, highlighting the university’s growing commitment to advancing sustainable development and creating meaningful impact beyond the academe.
The THE Impact Ratings provide a global performance framework that measures universities’ contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The rankings assess institutions based on their work in research, stewardship, outreach, and teaching, providing a comprehensive view of how universities contribute to social, economic, and environmental sustainability.
EVSU posted its strongest performance in SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, placing within the 401–600 global bracket in both indicators.
The university also demonstrated notable performance in key areas of human development, ranking in the 601–800 bracket for SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being and SDG 4: Quality Education.
EVSU’s debut in the THE Impact Ratings highlights the university’s continuing efforts to translate its academic mission into measurable contributions to sustainable development. Its performance reflects initiatives and partnerships that extend across research, education, community engagement, institutional stewardship, and collaborations with various sectors.
More than a global ranking, EVSU’s inclusion in the 2026 THE Impact Ratings represents a significant step in strengthening the university’s international visibility and affirming its role as a higher education institution committed to advancing the SDGs.
As EVSU continues to pursue excellence and innovation, its first-ever appearance in the global rankings provides a strong foundation for further improving its impact and expanding its contributions to sustainable development in Eastern Visayas and beyond.
