Bulletin EVSU Launches Honor Pledge as New Institutional Tradition

Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) launches the EVSU Honor Pledge on August 17, 2026, introducing a new semesterly tradition that seeks to strengthen institutional identity, pride, and shared responsibility among the University community.

The initiative will be formally launched during the first Traditional Flag Ceremony of School Year 2026–2027, with the entire EVSU community participating in a simultaneous recitation of the Honor Pledge.

The pledge reaffirms the commitment of students, faculty members, administrative personnel, and other members of the EVSU community to the University’s core values of excellence, virtue, service, and unity, while promoting integrity, responsible citizenship, inclusivity, environmental stewardship, and accountability.

More than a ceremonial activity, the EVSU Honor Pledge serves as a shared institutional covenant that reminds every EVSUnista to SERVE, LEARN and MAKE A DIFFERENCE—pursuing knowledge with excellence, serving with compassion, and transforming knowledge and values into meaningful action for the University, community, country, and environment.

The Honor Pledge will be recited at the beginning of every semester, providing a recurring moment for the EVSU community to welcome new and returning members and renew their collective commitment to the University’s mission and aspirations.

This initiative is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 04: Quality Education; (SDG 08): Decent Work and Economic Growth; SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions
