News EVSU-SoEd STRENGTHENS FUTURE TEACHERS’ PREPARATION THROUGH FIELD STUDY, TEACHING INTERNSHIP ASSEMBLY

Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) School of Education brought together pre-service teachers, parents, faculty members, and program coordinators for its Field Study and Teaching Internship Students’ Assembly, highlighting the importance of partnership and proper preparation as education students transition from academic learning to actual teaching practice.

Held at the EVSU Auditorium under the theme “Bridging Learning and Practice: Empowering Future Educators Through Partnership and Purpose,” the assembly provided students and their parents with an overview of the expectations, policies, responsibilities, and requirements that come with Field Study and Student Teaching.

The activity also featured the induction of the Pre-Service Teacher Association (PSTA) officers for Academic Year 2026–2027, reinforcing student leadership and active participation in the School of Education.

Dr. Rey Anthonie Alvez, FS Coordinator for TVED, discussed the Joint DepEd-CHED Memorandum No. 1, s. 2021, while Prof. Reggie Regina Diaz, FS Coordinator for CAPED, presented the DepEd-EVSU Memorandum of Agreement.

These orientations were complemented by discussions on the roles and responsibilities of students, parents, and partner schools throughout the internship experience.

The assembly likewise featured the presentation of the Field Study and Student Teaching uniform, an intermission number from BPED students, and an open forum where concerns and clarifications regarding the field study and teaching internship were addressed.

Through the assembly, the EVSU School of Education underscored its commitment to developing competent, responsible, and practice-ready future educators. By strengthening the partnership among the university, students, parents, and cooperating schools, EVSU seeks to ensure that its pre-service teachers are better equipped to translate classroom learning into meaningful teaching experiences.

The initiative supports Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 04: Quality Education.
