Two student-athletes from EVSU-Ormoc Campus proudly represented the Philippines in the 20th Asian Games held in the Aichi Prefecture in Japan.

Standing alongside Asia’s finest modern pentathletes, Princess Honey Arbilon finished 11th with 1,286 points. Meanwhile, Shyra Mae Aranzado placed 10th with 1,302 points.

Ms. Arbilon and Ms. Aranzado are no strangers to high-level international sporting contests. Both Bachelor of Physical Education (BPED) students previously captured silver medals for Team Philippines in the Modern Pentathlon Triathle event during the 33rd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Thailand.

Considered the ultimate multi-discipline sport and often called the “King of Sports”, the Modern Pentathlon tests an athlete’s endurance, agility, and mental precision across five distinct events in a single day: fencing, obstacle racing, swimming, and a combined laser-run featuring (shooting & running). Historically held across five days, this grueling competition is now completed in just 90 minutes.

The entire EVSU community is immensely proud of both Ms. Arbilon and Ms. Aranzado for representing the nation and showcasing the true excellence and grit of the EVSUnista spirit.
