News EVSU SASO HOLDS RE-ECHOING ACTIVITY ON INCLUSIVE AND COMPREHENSIVE STUDENT AFFAIRS POLICIES

The Student Affairs and Services Office (SASO) of Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) conducted a Re-Echoing Activity today, October 22, 2026, at the Graduate School Function Hall (GS Function Hall).

The event focused on sharing updated, inclusive, and comprehensive policies and guidelines on student affairs and services, in line with CHED Memorandum Order No. 18, Series of 2026.

Led by Dr. Sonia T. Enrile, Director of the Student Affairs and Services Office, the session aimed to disseminate critical insights, knowledge, and best practices from recent training programs. The activity was organized to ensure the effective application of standardized policies and strategies across all student service sectors within the university.

These key areas encompass academic and administrative support such as admission, registrar, scholarship, financial assistance, and foreign students services. Crucial aspects of student welfare, health, and safety were also tackled, including guidance and counseling, health and food services, safety and security, career and job placement, student discipline, housing, and residential services.

Furthermore, the presentation underscored the importance of student life and engagement through sports development, culture and arts, student organizations, student media and publication, and social and community involvement programs. Special emphasis was given to enhancing inclusivity through multi-faith services, support services for specific sectors, and the continuous development of student handbooks and related programs.

The program concluded with an interactive open forum, allowing participants to raise questions, address operational challenges, and formulate actionable strategies for applying the new guidelines across all EVSU Campus.

Through this initiative, EVSU SASO continues to ensure that its programs, policies, and support systems remain responsive, equitable, and aligned with national standards to provide a nurturing environment where every student can thrive.

This initiative directly aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), by promoting inclusive and accessible student programs, SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions).
