Eastern Visayas State Universiy-College of Arts and Sciences conducted a two-day seminar on Strategic Planning from September 14 -15, 2021 at EVSU Academic Building-Lobby.
The event was participated by Faculty members across departments in the college where the cornucopia of intellectual discussion eventuated in relation to the tangible outlook that will contribute to the improvement of the college and the university at large.
The event was highlighted with opening remark of our very own College Dean. Dr. Sheldon Ives G. Agaton, whose vision for the college was cascaded through a remarkable utterance. This was further substantiated with a message delivered by the University President, Dr. Dennis C. De Paz.
The first day was comprised of two sessions with expected presentation of outputs from the participants. Meanwhile, the College invited Prof. Christine Dawn Mombay, Director of Institutional Planning and Development, who served as the Resource Person of the said event. The discussed delved on the SUC Levelling Indicators and DPCR and ISO Quality Objectives.
Strategic planning reverberates a” master plan” for an entire system of higher education and it requires an institution to become active rather than passive with regard to the potential problems, hence foresight and concrete remedies are established. In this regard, the College took initiative to deliberate on these encumbrances especially in the context of COVID-19 where academic landscape adheres to the new normal paradigm and COVID- related concerns have made societal problem more glaring than ever.
