Eastern Visayas State University’s College of Engineering celebrated its 55th Anniversary through a virtual Professional Forum accentuating the role of Engineering Innovations in the Region

The College of Engineering celebrated its 55th Anniversary through a virtual Professional Forum via Google Meet, on June 28, 2021, with the theme, “Accelerating Regional Development through Sustainable Engineering Innovations”. Dr. John Glenn D. Ocaña, who is the current Provincial Director of DOST Leyte, served as the guest speaker for the said event.

Dr. Ocaña’s talk centered on the initiatives of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) in preparation for the 4th Industrial Revolution. He emphasized that the university should take an active part in these initiatives in order to empower its faculty and students in the implementation of vital concepts relative to Industry 4.0.

The newly installed University President, Dr. Dennis C. de Paz, the OIC Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Lydia M. Morante, and the Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Annabelle B. Pilapil together with its strong teaching force participated in the said event.
