The Eastern Visayas State University, through the RDE – Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO), received its second Platinum Award from the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) Clustering 2023 held today, March 18, 2024 during the ITSO Presidents’ Summit in Dusit Thani Hotel, Manila.
IPOPHL awarded the university with its first platinum award March of last year for 2022 ITSO accomplishments. Said award is the highest cluster distinction given to an innovation office with the following milestones: the conduct of foundation courses; patent searching, draft and file at least seven invention patents and commercialize an IP.
Present to receive the award is university president Dr. Dennis C. de Paz. ITSO Head Dr. Ma. Windie C. Velarde and unit Technical Staff Chelsea T. Figueroa are also in attendance for the ITSO Managers’ General Assembly tomorrow, March 19.
