LGU- Babatngon, Eastern Visayas State University ink partnership anew

The Eastern Visayas State University and the Local Government Unit of Babatngon, Leyte signed a new Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to strengthen their ties as they continue to serve their clientele, October 14, 2022, 1:00 o’clock in the afternoon at the Office of Research, Development and Extension Services (ORDEXs) studio room.

Gracing the event were the key officials of the university, Dr. Analyn Españo, Vice President for Research and Development and Extension Services, Prof. Bernard Niño Q. Membrebe, Dean of the College of Technology, Dr. Jovito Madeja, Director of Extension Services, among others.

The event became remarkable with the presence of the Municipal Mayor of Babatngon Leyte, Hon. Leny Lugnasin, and Vice Mayor Rosary Pearl Catudio as well as the Extension Coordinator of the College of Technology, Dr. Mark Anthony Partosa, College of Technology faculty members, among others.

Mayor Lugnasin mentioned in her speech that the MOA Signing offers their citizens a bright gleam of optimism despite the pandemic which is essential for Babatngon, Leyte’s social and economic growth.

“The trust and knowledge of the academic community is by far the most potent tool available to further the various projects run under my watch that will further improve the province’s different strategies of attaining economic growth, especially Babatngon, Leyte”, she further continued.

Dr. Analyn Españo emphasized the LGU-Babatngon and the university’s efforts to improve the economic and social standing of the residents and contribute to the growth of the entire country.

She further stressed the significance of strong collaboration between LGUs and other government agencies to reduce the effects of the pandemic and ensure smooth project implementation.

“Indeed, this kind of activity is one of the university’s cores. Moving together forward and beyond and through this extension services to the community, we are promoting collaboration and life’s transformation”, she added.

The activity ended with a photo opportunity among the attendees.
