ORDEX records Highest Number of Proposal Submissions

A total number of one-hundred thirty-five (135) research papers marked the highest number of proposals submitted to the Office of Research & Development, and Extension Services for RDE Hearing held on October 27-29, 2021 via Google Meet.

Sixty (60) out of the one-hundred thirty-five (35) were selected and presented. The panel of evaluators scrutinized the papers using the following criteria: Problem Definition, Literature and Previous Work, Impact of Proposed Research, Solution Plan, Expected Results, Quality of Written and Oral Communication (written and oral), Critical Thinking, and Broader Impact. The organizers informed the proponents that the Evaluation Forms will be sent to guide them in revising their study. Within two weeks, the proponents are expected to send back their research papers.

In an interview, the Research Director, Dr. Pearl Aphrodite Bobon-Carnice, emphasized that the RDE Technical Working Group will devote two weeks to assess the said revised proposals and decide if they will be endorsed to VP-RDE and RDE Council for final evaluation and to the University President respectively. If the University President approves, signing of the Project Contract will commence.

Engr. Jason Espanola, Dr. Andres Philip Mayol and Dr. Ronnie Concepcion of De la Salle University evaluated the research proposals on Science, Technology, Engineering, Agri-Fishes and Mathematics (STEAM).

Meanwhile, Dr. Nelson Tantoco of Dela Salle University, Dr. Rotacio Gravoso of Visayas State University, and Dr. Joderic Navarrete of Leyte Normal University looked into the Education, Humanities and the Arts research papers.

On Day 3, Dr. Rotacio Gravoso of Visayas State University, Dr. Reynaldo Garnace of Leyte Normal University and Engr. Danielle Grace Evangelista of De la Salle University assessed the Policy Studies, Economics and Laws, Environmental Science, Health, and Community Development.

The activity concluded with the announcement of winners of the previously conducted In-House Review last September 29-30 to October 1, 2021 via Zoom.
