News PINTAKASI sets the tone for EVSU Charter Celebration, strengthening path towards NURCA

Faculty members, administrative personnel, and staff of EVSU joined forces on August 6 for the PINTAKASI: Campus Clean-up Drive, turning the university grounds into a showcase of collective action as one of the flagship activities of the University’s Charter Anniversary celebration.

Organized by the Office of the University President, the simultaneous clean-up mobilized employees across the Main Campus to restore and maintain their designated work areas, green spaces, walkways, and shared facilities. Armed with cleaning tools and a shared commitment to environmental stewardship, the EVSU community transformed the campus through coordinated efforts that reflected the Filipino spirit of pintakasi—working together for the common good.

More than a commemorative activity, the clean-up drives underscored EVSU’s commitment to sustainability and resilience as it advances its aspiration of becoming the National University for Resiliency and Climate Action (NURCA). The initiative demonstrates that building a climate-resilient institution begins with cultivating a culture of environmental responsibility, shared ownership, and active participation among its stakeholders. By keeping the campus clean, safe, and sustainable, the university strengthens the very values that support its long-term vision of becoming a national leader in resiliency education, climate action, research, and community engagement.

The activity also served as a reminder that every member of the university community plays a vital role in shaping EVSU’s future. As employees worked side by side, they not only enhanced the campus environment but also reinforced a culture of collaboration that extends beyond the celebration. Their collective efforts reflect the University’s belief that resilience is built through everyday actions that inspire accountability, environmental consciousness, and service.

As the Charter Anniversary celebration continues, PINTAKASI sets the tone for the university’s year-long commitment to sustainability and institutional transformation. Through initiatives that combine community participation with environmental action, EVSU continues to move forward with a shared purpose—strengthening its foundation as it pursues its vision of becoming the country’s National University for Resiliency and Climate Action (NURCA), where innovation, sustainability, and resilience are translated into meaningful action for communities and future generations.
