Univ conducts Harampang, discusses issues with non-teaching personnel

As a step to pave the way for a ‘One EVSU towards a SMART University,’ University President Dr. Dennis C. De Paz, together with university vice-presidents and key officials, conducts HARAMPANG: Meeting with the President to meet with the university’s non-teaching personnel at the Miguel Romualdez Memorial Auditorium, February 19.

The meeting aimed to make a tangible life for students and employees, talk about further university developments, and to discuss the different aspects of the institution that should be addressed. 

Addressing the SMART University Project, Dr. De Paz stressed that the administration is conducting surveys to transition towards ensuring campus safety primarily through modern technology, rather than solely relying on the uniforms of institution personnel, while also taking into account the perspectives of employees and students on this matter.

“Wearing uniform is a sign of making our environment safe, para may identity tayo na when we enter the university, we are really from the university, kasi kulang pa tayo ng mga equipment na makaka monitor each one of you. It’s up to all of us” President De Paz stated.

“This is something that I want to impose on the university, if you agree to the no uniform policy in the university,” he also added.

Additionally, the University President elaborated that the administration is on the phase of enhancing campus safety by implementing various technological measures such as installing CCTV cameras throughout the campus, utilizing ID verification systems, and incorporating face recognition technology for both students and staff.

“Let us pray for a very successful ground breaking this Friday for our SMART Campus, which you will notice in the months to come, there will be some developments in the campus that CCTV’s will be all over the place. In the SMART Campus that we will implement, meron po doon face recognition. Please support this project because it’s all for our safety,” says the university president.

Meanwhile, Vice President for Administration And Finance Dr. Benedicto T. Militante Jr. discussed the achievements garnered by the university maintenance for the past years through considering minor problems that should be solved for the development of the campus.

Moreover, Vice President for Research, and Development, and Extension Services Dr. Analyn C. Españo shared her insight and appreciation to the efforts and involvements of non-teaching personnel to different aspects in the university while Vice President for Internationalizations and External Affairs Dr. Danilo B. Pulma discussed the acceptance of the Bureau of Immigration of the application of the university’s internationalization initiatives. 

Meanwhile, Chief Administrative Officer for Administration Dr. Doris Ann S. Espina explained the qualities that the university is requiring for employees promotion and development. 

The meeting concluded with essential university staff reaching a mutual agreement on the issues discussed.
